Lead Preschool Teacher / Assistant Teacher

Job Description

Barnyard Kids Learning Center is growing, and we are looking for caring, dependable educators to join our team! We are currently seeking a qualified Lead Preschool Teacher , and we also welcome applications from enthusiastic candidates interested in an Assistant Teacher/Teacher Aide position . We are TRS accredited and working toward national accreditation through the National Early Childhood Program Accreditation (NECPA) , providing opportunities for professional growth and continued development. Qualifications Lead Teacher Required:
High school diploma or equivalent, including homeschool or public school equivalent Ability to pass the required Child Care Center Background Check (CBCU) Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid certification CDA, Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree, or other qualifying education in Early Childhood Education or a related field
Preferred:
At least 2 years of early childhood education or childcare experience Experience working in a licensed childcare center Assistant Teacher / Teacher Aide If you are interested in early childhood education but do not yet meet the qualifications for a Lead Teacher, we still want to hear from you!
We welcome applicants who:
Have a high school diploma or equivalent Enjoy working with young children Are dependable, patient, caring, and willing to learn Are interested in growing their skills and experience in early childhood education Can pass the required CBCU background check Are willing to obtain CPR/First Aid certification Previous childcare experience is helpful but may not be required for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities Depending on the position, responsibilities may include: Building positive, respectful relationships with children and families Supporting children's social, physical, and cognitive development Preparing and participating in engaging learning activities Supporting circle time, art, sensory activities, and play-based learning Encouraging healthy hygiene, toileting, and self-help skills Supporting positive classroom management and daily routines Participating in family-style meals and classroom activities Observing and documenting children's development Maintaining accurate attendance and developmental records Participating in Parent-Teacher Conferences as appropriate to the position Working collaboratively with classroom teammates and center staff Supporting Barnyard Kids' ongoing accreditation goals Lead Teachers will also be responsible for preparing monthly lesson plans that address developmental milestones and supporting classroom planning and assessment.
Schedule Full-Time:
Monday-Friday, 8-hour shift; hours may vary based on enrollment and center needs
Part-Time:
Consistent schedule with specific days/hours based on center needs Part-time positions are not available for Lead Teachers at this time. A public school background check does not substitute for the CBCU background check required for employment in a licensed Texas child care center. We are looking for the right people to join our team. Pay:
$10.00 - $14.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
