Position Summary:
Runge ISD is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and student-centered Instructional Aide to support teachers and students in providing high-quality instruction and interventions aligned with campus academic and behavior goals. The instructional aide will assist with classroom management, small group instruction, progress monitoring, and administrative tasks that promote student achievement and classroom efficiency.
This position plays a critical role in creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for all learners, consistent with the district's mission to ensure one year of learning for one year of teaching—every student, every year.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist classroom teachers in delivering instruction and monitoring student progress
Provide one-on-one or small-group instructional support for students
Support the implementation of accommodations and behavior support plans as directed
Supervise students in various settings (e.g., classroom, cafeteria, playground, arrival/dismissal)
Prepare instructional materials and maintain a well-organized, supportive learning environment
Administer and document basic assessments and progress reports as directed by supervising staff
Maintain confidentiality of student records and comply with all FERPA and district policy requirements
Participate in campus training and required professional development
Uphold campus procedures and expectations that support a safe and orderly learning environment
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED (required)
Must meet one of the following requirements under Texas Education Code §21.003 and Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA):
Completed two years of study at an institution of higher education (48 college hours); OR
Hold an associate's degree or higher; OR
Meet formal academic assessment through a paraprofessional assessment
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students, teachers, and families
Experience working in a school setting or with children is preferred
