We are dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing environment for children while instilling Christian values. We are seeking a dependable, caring, and energetic Afternoon Closing Support Teacher to join our team. This position is responsible for supporting classroom teachers and children during the afternoon, helping maintain a safe and engaging environment, and assisting with end-of-day closing routines. Hours for this position are M/T/TH from 12:00pm -5:30pm . There are always opportunities to sub when others are out.
Responsibilities:
Provide attentive, nurturing care and supervision for children throughout the afternoon. Support classroom teachers with daily activities, transitions, and routines. Assist children with meals, snacks, bathroom routines, handwashing, and other self-help skills as needed. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment. Assist with transitioning children between classrooms and preparing children for dismissal. Communicate respectfully and professionally with children, families, and staff. Complete afternoon cleaning and classroom organization duties. Assist with closing procedures, including sanitizing surfaces, putting away materials, organizing the classroom, and ensuring the room is ready for the next day. Provide additional classroom support as needed to maintain appropriate supervision and staffing ratios.
Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age or older. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must complete the required background check requirements. Must complete required licensing orientation and pre-service requirements. Must complete required health and safety training, including Child Care Basics, First Aid/CPR, and Bloodborne Pathogens; a Food Worker Card is required. Must obtain an ECE Initial Certificate or an approved equivalent within five years of being hired or promoted into the Assistant Teacher position, under the current requirements. Washington State Legislature Must maintain required annual professional development and in-service training. Must be able to safely supervise and engage children in a developmentally appropriate manner. Must demonstrate reliability, patience, good communication, and teamwork.
