Job Description

Part-Time Special Education Paraprofessional Cashton School District — Cashton Middle/High School The Cashton School District is seeking a dependable, caring, and student-focused individual to serve as a Part-Time Special Education Paraprofessional at Cashton Middle/High School.

9/1/2026 Position Responsibilities The Special Education Paraprofessional will work as a member of the special education team to support students in accessing their educational program and developing academic, social, behavioral, and independence skills.
Responsibilities may include:
Providing individual and small-group support to students with disabilities under the direction of licensed special education staff. Assisting students with classroom assignments, organization, study skills, and completion of academic tasks. Supporting students in implementing accommodations and modifications identified in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Reinforcing positive behavior and supporting students in developing appropriate social and self-management skills. Assisting students in transitioning between classes and activities as needed. Supporting students in general education and special education settings. Communicating effectively and professionally with teachers, special education staff, administrators, students, and families as appropriate. Maintaining student confidentiality and following all district policies and procedures. Assisting with classroom organization, preparation of materials, and other duties that support student learning. Performing other duties as assigned by the building administrator or special education staff.
Qualifications The ideal candidate will:
Demonstrate a genuine interest in working with adolescents and supporting students with disabilities. Be patient, dependable, flexible, and able to build positive relationships with students. Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. Be able to work collaboratively with teachers and other members of the school staff. Maintain confidentiality regarding student information. Demonstrate good judgment and professionalism. Have the ability to follow directions and implement plans developed by licensed staff. Previous experience working with students with disabilities is preferred but not required. Why Join the Cashton School District?
