Teacher Assistant -

Portage Pay:

$16.10 - $16.81 Job Description Renewal Unlimited is seeking a Teacher Assistant for our Head Start classroom in Portage. This team-oriented position works 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday during the school year from mid-August into early-June.

Key Responsibilities:

Works under the direction of the Teacher to implement curriculum, spark creativity, and help with school readiness goals Eats with the children, creating a nurturing environment, encouraging healthy eating & social interactions. Assists in assessing children for developmental skill progressions and entering the data into a software program. Completes vision and hearing screenings Assumes the duties and responsibilities of the Teacher in the Teacher's absence Carries out other activities as directed by the Teacher Follows Wisconsin Daycare Licensing Rules & Head Start Standards Must complete an agency paid Early Childhood I or II class within 6 months of hire. Other trainings include identification of and reportion of child abuse; Shaken Baby Syndrome; and First Aid/CPR/AED. Must be available Monday through Friday, from mid-August into early-June.

License/Certification:

Childcare Registry account and level (Preferred) Child care courses or willingness to obtain after hire.
