Part-Time Upward Bound On-Site Coordinator/Tutor - Hamilton

Job Description

The On-site Coordinator/Tutor will report to the Project Director and Project Coordinator and serve as local liaison for program activities in target school.
Works Hours:
Varies, up to 30 hours per month Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications and must submit a complete application packet through the on-line application system to be considered. A complete application consists of the following: An on-line application Current résumé Copy of college transcripts (Transcript of college work verifying degree requirement; must include degree awarded and date confirmed. Unofficial transcripts will be accepted before the deadline, but official transcripts must be received if employed.) Application materials must provide documentation that the applicant meets all minimum qualifications. Applicants must provide information from previous employers documenting full-time related work experience if an offer is made. Recommend participants and obtain eligibility documentation. Conduct weekly participant tutoring held at target high school to ensure core curriculum and participant needs outlined in IPP are adequately addressed. Schedule individual study sessions as needed. Provide personal, career, and financial counseling to participants. Provide cultural development activities. Provide documentation of all tutoring, special study sessions, and cultural development activities. Provide documentation of tutoring participation and cultural development activities. Meet with teachers regarding problems or deficiencies. Collect and submit progress reports/report cards and required Upward Bound paperwork in a timely manner. Complete needs assessments, individual program planning, and pre-test and post-test assessments. Provide participant reports as required by project in a timely manner. Provide all monthly reports and documentation of services and participation in a timely manner. Keep detailed records and documentation of services and participation. Monitor and inform project staff of any changes that effect participant involvement in project activities, tutoring, etc. Advise in scheduling Upward Bound activities and communicating activity details to participants. Participate in activities during the project year. Attend workshops as scheduled by Project Director. Perform other functions as assigned by Project Director and Project Coordinator essential for the improvement of participant academic performance. EXPERIENCE A
minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in the area of administration, counseling, education, or related field is required . A minimum of 1 year of experience in administration, counseling, education, or related field is required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to assist students with understanding their subject matter. Ability to maintain confidentiality of student information. Knowledge of Internet, email, and MS Office/computer skills. Dependable and reliable. A focus on detail. Good organizational skills. Good communication skills. Successful problem-solving skills.
