Part-Time Certified Teacher / Hybrid K-12 Tutor Connected Tutors is a small, specialized tutoring practice serving K-12 students. We are hiring a certified teacher for a hybrid role: online tutoring plus in-person sessions at our Stone Mountain, GA location (ZIP 30083). This role is best for an educator who can make learning feel clear, approachable, and confidence-building for students who may feel anxious, discouraged, behind, or disconnected from school.
Important location requirement:
You must be willing and able to travel to our location in
ZIP 30083
at least twice per week. Sessions can be scheduled after school or after hours when needed, and we will work with you on a consistent weekly schedule. Applicants who appear to fit will be sent a Google Form as the next step. The form asks for additional details and a short video introduction. About the Role Tutors at Connected Tutors work closely with students in recurring weekly one-on-one and small-group sessions. You will deliver structured, personalized instruction while adapting to each student's learning style, attention, confidence, and emotional state. Most of your work will be a mix of:
Virtual sessions through Google Meet
In-person sessions at our Stone Mountain / 30083 location at least twice per week Our students include learners with ADHD, dyslexia, executive function challenges, anxiety, learning gaps, and school avoidance, as well as students seeking enrichment or acceleration.
This is not a worksheet-only or plug-and-play curriculum role. We are looking for teachers who can explain concepts clearly, notice what a student is missing, and adjust instruction in real time. Program Areas We Are Hiring For We are especially interested in certified teachers with experience in one or more of the following: ELA / Literacy (K-12)
Structured literacy or Orton-Gillingham-informed experience is a plus Math (K-12)
Foundational math, intervention, and confidence rebuilding
Upper elementary through high school math support
Ability to explain concepts clearly and patiently Academic Coaching / Executive Function (Grades 4-12)
Organization, planning, time management, and study skills
Support for ADHD and anxious learners

An active teaching certification in any U.S. state
Classroom, tutoring, intervention, or special education experience
Strong ability to teach clearly and patiently
Experience supporting students with ADHD, anxiety, executive function challenges, or learning differences
Comfort teaching virtually through Google Meet or similar tools
Ability to commute to

(Stone Mountain, GA area) at least twice per week
Availability during weekday afternoons and evenings (after-hours sessions OK when we schedule them together)
Reliability with recurring weekly sessions
Warmth, professionalism, and strong communication with families

Typical starting load: about 3-12 hours per week, depending on student fit and your availability
Hybrid delivery: online + in-person
