This tutoring role supports students and staff with technology and other needs related to the Abington Middle/High School Library. The responsibilities of a Tutor consist of the responsibilities of our Paraprofessionals, which include: Supporting a teachers daily instructional plan and implementing differentiated instruction, clarification, and assessment, as needed.
Supporting the classroom teacher in responding to students behavioral, physical, and academic needs.
Maintaining active awareness of students IEPs, 504 accommodations, and English Learner support arrangements.
Implementing accommodations and modifications to Special Education students on an as needed basis.
Communicating and gathering information about student progress to general and special education staff, so that teachers may use this information to guide instruction and liaisons may use this information to track progress and adjust service arrangements.
Supporting daily, building-based operations as assigned by building administration. Additionally, Tutors are often tasked with the following: Tutors may be requested to implement short-term academic lessons in consultation with teaching staff. Independently provide educational activities and assessments on behalf of the classroom teacher. Maintain familiarity with the general education content in order to provide supplemental instruction to students. Support students who have missed substantial instruction.
