Cast Member City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students' academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you'll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You'll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. Provide in-class academic support through tutoring and small-group instruction Build positive, mentoring relationships with students to encourage engagement and attendance Support teachers with classroom management and learning activities Lead or assist with after-school and enrichment programs Track student progress and document interventions and outcomes Collaborate with school staff and City Year teammates to plan and deliver services Support school-wide events and initiatives that build a positive school climate Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and leadership development Communicate with families and caregivers as appropriate to support student success Model professionalism, cultural humility, and a commitment to social justice Tutoring and academic support Classroom support and management Youth mentoring and relationship building Basic data tracking and documentation Communication (verbal and written) Teamwork and collaboration Cultural competence and sensitivity Time management and organization Conflict resolution and de-escalation Basic technology skills (e.g., Google Suite, email, virtual learning tools) Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Eligible to serve with AmeriCorps Ability to pass background checks required for working in schools U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident (per AmeriCorps requirements) Some roles may prefer prior tutoring, mentoring, or youth development experience
