STATEMENT OF JOB
The Temporary Part-Time Tutor will provide supplemental academic support to students, working under the supervision of school administrators and/or designated instructional staff. This position is intended to address specific learning needs and help close instructional gaps. The role is part-time, temporary, and seasonal in nature and does not carry eligibility for benefits or long-term placement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide small group and/or one-on-one tutoring support in designated content areas (e.g., reading, math). Assist with targeted instructional activities aligned with classroom objectives and student needs. Monitor student progress and provide feedback to supervising teachers or administrators. Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and student participation. Follow the school's schedule and expectations for student engagement and supervision. Communicate professionally with students, staff, and families, as needed. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all RCS policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or designee.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree or 48 hours of college credits required; or higher preferred. Prior experience working with school-age children in an educational setting is preferred. Must pass a criminal background check as required by the school system.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Ability to build rapport with students and support academic growth. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to follow directions and instructional plans provided by certified staff. Willingness to work flexible part-time hours based on school needs. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
