Cast Member City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students' academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you'll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You'll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. Provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring in core subjects to assigned students during and after school Support teachers in the classroom by reinforcing lessons and managing learning activities Build positive, mentoring relationships with students to support their social-emotional development Track and document student progress and participation using established tools and systems Communicate regularly with school staff and teammates about student needs and successes Help plan and lead after-school programs, enrichment activities, and school-wide events Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development sessions Model City Year's values and contribute to an inclusive, collaborative team culture Engage families and community partners in activities that support student success Uphold AmeriCorps and school policies, including attendance, professionalism, and service hour requirements Tutoring and academic support Classroom support and management Youth mentoring and relationship building Basic data entry and progress tracking Communication (verbal and written) Teamwork and collaboration Time management and reliability Cultural competence and sensitivity Basic technology skills (e.g., Google Workspace, email) Facilitation of group activities and enrichment programs Medical Insurance Eligibility to serve in AmeriCorps (U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident) Ability to pass required background checks TB test or school/district-required health clearances (as applicable)
