Part-Time Math & English Tutor Wanted We are looking for a dependable, patient, and organized part-time tutor to work with our two children, ages 7 and 9 , primarily in Math and English . This position may be particularly well suited for an Elementary Education or Early Childhood Education student who would like consistent, hands-on experience working with school-age children and collaborating with parents on their education. Schedule Twice per week Approximately 30 -45 minutes per child per session Parents will be present and actively involved What We're Looking For This is not a position where the tutor will be solely responsible for teaching our children or creating an entire curriculum. We already have an established curriculum , and the parents will oversee their education throughout the week. Instead, we are looking for someone who can serve as an additional educational resource for our family.

The tutor will:

Help us plan upcoming lessons within our existing curriculum Recommend and designate assignments for each child Work individually with each child on Math and English concepts they find difficult Reinforce concepts and skills that need additional practice Help determine what should be reviewed during the week Maintain a shared spreadsheet with lesson plans, assignments, progress, areas needing additional attention, and upcoming goals Communicate with the parents by phone or text as needed during the week when questions or difficulties arise How the Parents Will Be Involved We will remain actively involved in our children's education. The parents will ensure that lessons and assignments are completed, review the children's work throughout the week, and identify areas where additional assistance may be needed. When a child is struggling with a particular concept, we will communicate that to the tutor so the tutor can provide targeted instruction during the next session . The goal is to establish a collaborative and professional working relationship in which the parents manage the children's day-to-day education while the tutor provides educational guidance, lesson-planning assistance, and targeted instruction. Qualifications We welcome applicants with experience in elementary education, tutoring, teaching, or other academic instruction involving school-age children . College students currently pursuing a degree in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a closely related field are encouraged to apply and may qualify based on their education and experience. Applicants should have experience working with children beyond the preschool level . Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is: Patient and comfortable working with young children Able to explain concepts in different ways when a child doesn't immediately understand Organized and able to help maintain a consistent educational plan Comfortable communicating and collaborating professionally with parents Dependable and interested in establishing an ongoing professional tutoring relationship
