Primary Purpose:
The Wichita Falls ISD is currently seeking qualified tutors to assist classroom teachers with additional instruction to increase student achievement.
Qualifications:
Education and Certification Requirements:
Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required.
Some college coursework is preferred.
Candidates may qualify as either:
Non-certified individuals who meet the minimum educational requirements, at a rate of $15/hour, or
Certified educators holding valid teaching credentials, at a rate of $30/hour.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of subjects assigned
General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Maintain emotional control under stress
Ability to follow written instructions
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Work with classroom teacher and/or campus administration to address areas of weakness as identified from previous
STAAR/EOC
testing, benchmark classroom exams, and other formative and summative measures.
Use multiple approaches, differentiation, and if appropriate, accommodate modifications to increase student achievement.
Report student performance to classroom teacher
Manage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Maintain a professional relationship with campus staff.
Be a positive role model for students.
Support mission of school district.
Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling, and pushing. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment.
