We are hiring for the following part-time seasonal positions for
Recreation and Community Services:
Scorekeepers - $23.34/hr. - $24.23/hr. Examples of Essential Functions Our Recreation part-time seasonal staff work at various parks and community locations and events in the City of Vista. There are other opportunities as well throughout the year.
Positions currently available are:
Scorekeepers - We need scorekeepers for adult softball and youth basketball. Specific questions about the positions can be emailed to or or by calling our Recreation Coordinator at 760-643-5273.

Working Conditions:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the position(s). Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this class, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively verbally and in a written manner; observe and interpret data, and analyze and solve problems. The employee must be able to work either in an indoor office environment or outdoors in the field environment (depending on position); Protective clothing and sunscreen will often be needed for extended periods of outdoor work. The employee may have to move up to 50 lbs. and transport up to 20 lbs. objects frequently (depending on position). Vision abilities required by this job include the ability to detect, determine, perceive, identify, estimate, and assess work related objects and/or work products based on position specific designated tasks. Must be able to work a flexible schedule; assignments including early mornings, weekends, holidays, special events and split shifts. Employees must also wear standard work apparel as prescribed by the Parks and Community Services Department.
Selection Process:
All properly completed applications will be reviewed, and the most qualified candidates will be invited to continue in the selection process . A pre-employment live scan fingerprint (background check), paid by the City, will be required. Please note these positions are open until filled, so it is in your best interest to apply immediately.
WORKERS' COMPENSATION
The City provides Workers' Compensation Insurance to all employees.
RETIREMENT CONTRIBUTION
Employee is required to contribute 7.5% of gross earnings to the MissionSquare Retirement Plan, which is offered in lieu of Social Security, OR Current CalPERS members will be required to contribute the full employee contribution of 8%.
