Saturdays Position Summary The Arlington-Mansfield Area YMCA is seeking dependable and enthusiastic soccer officials for our Fall 2026 Youth Soccer season. Officials will oversee games for players ages 3-12 while helping create a safe, positive, and developmentally appropriate experience for every participant. This is a great opportunity for students, athletes, and experienced referees to develop leadership and officiating skills while earning extra money on Saturdays.
Available Positions and Pay Sideline Official:
$13 per game
Center Referee:
$18-$25 per game, depending on experience, certification, and division assigned Essential Responsibilities Arrive on time and prepared for all assigned games. Review and enforce YMCA soccer rules consistently and fairly. Monitor player safety and stop play when necessary. Communicate calls clearly and respectfully with players and coaches. Help teach younger players basic rules and proper game procedures. Maintain control of the game and promote good sportsmanship. Work cooperatively with other officials and YMCA staff. Report injuries, incidents, or concerns to the on-site supervisor. Represent the YMCA in a professional and positive manner. Qualifications Must be at least 15 years old. Basic knowledge of soccer rules is required. Previous playing or officiating experience is preferred but not required. Must demonstrate reliability, confidence, professionalism, and good communication skills. Must be comfortable working with children, volunteer coaches, and families. Must be able to remain active and attentive throughout each game. Referee certification is preferred for higher-level center referee assignments.
