Full Job Description Position Responsibilities:
Teach objectives in classroom instruction, tutoring skills, classroom management, curriculum development, etc., and develop a personal portfolio that can be used for employment. Assign educational tasks implementing common core standards that commensurate with the course of study. Provide learning materials, lesson plans and online experiences to meet educational needs of pupils in automotive. Select and/or develop individualized instructional material to meet specialized needs of students. Assess entry level skills at the time of admission; keep appropriate records, prepare progress reports, articulate with post-secondary, attend site and parent functions. Perform basic attendance, accounting, and business services as required. Maintain a high level of professional competence through participation in in-services and other professional growth activities. Assist in staff development activities. Provide opportunities for students to explore and accumulate certification in industry sector area of Automotive. Track off site volunteer hours and visit each site regularly. Attend Student Recognition and yearly advisory meetings. Turn in all designated paperwork on time to site and ROP office and site administrative office. Market and maintain designated student teacher ratio. Maintain skills needed to be up to date in industry Provide feedback to students, parents, school personnel and administration regarding student individual progress through reports, phone, and/or email communications and parent conferences.
QUALIFICATIONS
(Minimum): Appropriate Valid Preliminary/Clear California Designated Subjects Career Technical Educational Teaching Credential in Transportation. Must have EL Authorization (You must apply for annual waiver while completing credentialing program of study until (CTEL) Certification or (EL) authorization equivalent is obtained through clear credential.) Three years practical experience in the field of Automotive. Ability to work effectively in a multiethnic setting. Positive reference vouching for qualifications and recent successful experience. Experience in planning, implementing and evaluating educational programs. Industry Certified in areas of Automotive Successful teaching experience, or experience in the above-named field. Ability to instill teamwork, commitment and discipline. Evidence of theory and techniques in the field of Automotive
GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS
10-month position (188 days, Temporary, Year-to-Year) 32.5 hours per week, daytime work hours to be determined, Monday through Friday. Appropriate placement on the Adult Ed/ROP Teachers' Salary Schedule, (beginning hourly rate is $47.940 - $77.461, depending on experience and education).
