Our home is warm, busy, and full of personality. We have three kids, ages 9, 6, and 4. We are not looking for someone to check boxes or follow a rigid curriculum. We want someone who designs learning around our kids' interests, our lifestyle, and the natural opportunities our property provides. Outdoor learning, animal integration, project-based exploration, and hands-on life skills are all part of how education happens here.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a full-time, on-site position serving as the primary educator and learning designer for our three children. You will be responsible for curriculum planning, instruction, assessment, and the integration of academics and life skills into a cohesive learning experience that reflects how our family actually lives. Curriculum Design & Planning. You propose and implement an educational approach that works for three kids of different ages and learning styles. We are open to project-based, outdoor-forward, Montessori-inspired, or other progressive models—the approach is yours to design within our values. Instruction Across Ages. Deliver academics (reading, writing, math, science, social studies, etc.) to a 9-year-old, 6-year-old, and 4-year-old simultaneously, finding efficiencies and integration points where possible. Life Skills & Real-World Learning. Weave practical skills—financial literacy, problem-solving, animal care, property management, cooking, outdoor competency—into the educational experience when appropriate. Learning Space & Flexibility. Create a flexible learning environment that spans the home, the property, and the outdoor spaces. Field trips, animal interactions, ranch activities, and hands-on projects are part of the curriculum, not separate from it. Assessment & Communication. Track progress, document learning, and communicate regularly with Isabel and Bryce on each child's growth, challenges, and next steps. Collaboration with Family. Work alongside Isabel and Bryce, who are present and active in the home. They will step in. That is how this household runs. Support their involvement.

EXPECTED OUTCOMES

Within 15 Days Build genuine rapport with each child and understand their learning styles, interests, and needs. Tour the property and understand the animals, spaces, and outdoor resources available for learning. Present a proposed educational approach and curriculum framework for Isabel and Bryce's input. Within 30 Days Implement the agreed-upon curriculum with clear routines, learning objectives, and project timelines. Demonstrate the ability to manage three kids of different ages in a cohesive learning environment. Provide initial assessments of each child's baseline skills and learning profile. Within 45 Days Operate as the primary designer and executor of the educational experience with minimal oversight. Show evidence of engagement, progress, and kids who are genuinely invested in their learning. Establish yourself as a trusted, stabilizing presence the kids look forward to learning with.

NEED TO HAVE

Teaching Credential or Equivalent. Current teaching credential, homeschool certification, or demonstrated mastery as a homeschool educator with proven results. Master's Degree or Equivalent Experience. Master's degree in education, child development, or a related field, OR 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and delivering education in alternative settings (homeschool, Montessori, project-based schools, etc.). Curriculum Design Ability. You can design learning experiences from scratch, not just implement an existing program. Multi-Age Instruction. Experience teaching or tutoring kids across a span of ages (ideally K-3rd grade range) simultaneously. Flexibility & Creativity. You thrive in non-traditional environments and can integrate academic learning with real-world contexts. Self-Direction. You should not need someone to tell you what to do next. You drive the learning design and execution. Outings & Field Trips. Able to plan and lead weekly outings and field trips that extend learning beyond the classroom. Animal & Outdoor Comfort. Genuine comfort and enthusiasm for working in outdoor, animal-centered environments. Values Alignment. Non-smoker, drug-free, and respectful of our family's boundaries. Availability. Full-time, 40 hours per week on-site. Location. Must be able to work on-site in Castle Rock, CO.

NICE TO HAVE

Ranch or Farm Experience. Familiarity with ranching, livestock, or working outdoor environments. Montessori or Progressive Education Background. Training in child-led, hands-on, or nature-based education approaches. Outdoor Education Credentials. Training in outdoor education, forest schools, or adventure-based learning. Parent Communication Skills. Clear, proactive communication with families about progress and learning. Willingness to Travel. Available to travel with the family a few weeks per year. Language Skills. Bilingual Proficiency (Spanish preferred)

SCHEDULE + COMPENSATION

Hours. Full-time, 40 hours per week. Days. Standard weekday schedule. Location. On-site in Castle Rock, CO. Start Date. Flexible. Pay. $50 to $80 per hour based on credentials, experience, and educational background. Benefits. PTO (14 days per year, flexible) and health insurance stipend ($300/month).
