Job Description
Ombudsman Educational Services seeks an Elementary School Teacher to support at-risk and nontraditional learners in a structured, alternative education setting. In this role, you will design and deliver standards-based, personalized instruction, differentiate lessons to meet diverse learning needs, and use data to monitor progress. You will collaborate closely with school districts, families, and support staff, contribute to IEPs and behavior plans, and maintain a safe, positive classroom environment that fosters academic growth, social-emotional skills, and student advocacy. Responsibilities Plan and deliver standards-based, engaging lessons for elementary students in an alternative education setting. Differentiate instruction and materials to support diverse learners, including at-risk and nontraditional students. Assess student progress using formative and summative assessments and adjust instruction based on data. Collaborate with school districts, families, and support staff to align goals and services. Contribute to IEPs, behavior intervention plans, and student support plans as needed. Maintain a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment that supports social-emotional development. Integrate educational technology and online tools to enhance instruction and student engagement. Document attendance, grades, and progress notes accurately and in a timely manner. Participate in professional development focused on special education, behavior support, and student advocacy. Support the mission of Ombudsman Educational Services by promoting student success and graduation readiness.
