Job Description

Lee Health is seeking a PRN Cardiac Device Specialist I to support our mission-driven, patient-centered cardiac services in Southwest Florida. In this on-site role, you will perform interrogation, programming, and troubleshooting of pacemakers and ICDs under physician supervision, support device clinics and procedures, and help manage remote monitoring workflows. You will educate patients and families, ensure accurate EMR documentation, and collaborate closely with cardiology and electrophysiology teams. Responsibilities Perform interrogation, programming, and troubleshooting of cardiac implantable electronic devices under physician supervision Assist physicians during device clinics and procedures, ensuring accurate data collection and documentation Analyze device diagnostics and alerts, communicating significant findings to the care team Educate patients and families on device function, safety, and home monitoring procedures Maintain accurate device records in the electronic medical record and device databases Coordinate follow-up schedules and remote monitoring workflows for device patients Ensure compliance with device-related safety, infection control, and regulatory standards Collaborate with cardiology, EP, and nursing teams to optimize patient-centered care Participate in quality improvement and device program initiatives within the cardiology service line Support on-call or as-needed PRN coverage for device-related patient needs Required Skills Cardiac implantable electronic device interrogation and programming Electrophysiology and cardiac rhythm interpretation Use of device programmers and remote monitoring platforms Electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG) interpretation Electronic medical record (EMR) documentation Clinical data analysis and reporting Infection control and patient safety practices Patient and family education in a clinical setting Interdisciplinary clinical communication Time management in a fast-paced clinical environment
