Position Summary Oversees all aspects of the Biomedical Department & external equipment contracts. Establishes policies, procedures, standards, and objectives for the provision of services and coordinates with other departments to provide maximum level of services to hospital staff. Position Accountabilities Maintains established Biomedical Department policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Assists in the maintenance all external equipment contracts. Participates in Biomedical Department functions with other departments of the hospital. Adheres to departmental goals, objectives, policies, and procedures for department operation. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, inservice meetings and workshops to keep abreast of new software and hardware product developments. Assists in the preparation and maintenance of department reports. Provides technical assistance including interpretation of specifications. Performs network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose network problems. Implement upgrades and changes to servers and/or network configuration. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested by Biomed Coordinator. Maintains logs of equipment PMs / repairs and all applicable service history. Maintains logs and paperwork tracking possession of equipment as Biomed performs service. Verifies performance of medical equipment is within manufacturer's specifications.
