The Clinical Engineer acts as point of contact between the department of Clinical Engineering and the Office of Project Management for complex projects; oversees the implementation of specialized medical and laboratory instrumentation and equipment modifications; analyzes and provides consultation on new medical and laboratory equipment needs; provides in-service teaching and training; conducts investigations of device related failures; analyzes complex medical or laboratory equipment to define corrective maintenance and to develop appropriate preventive maintenance procedures. What you will do Develop and maintain current access to expert knowledge of evolving and emerging medical technologies and provide consultation to clinicians and leadership. Ensures patient safety in the performance of job functions and through participation in hospital department or unit patient safety initiatives. Analyze the effectiveness of the preventive maintenance and repair systems. Develop conceptual option analyses leading to a preferred solution for services supplies and technology as assigned. Develop training objectives in tandem with Patient Care Services. In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Clinical Engineering or a related Technical field required.

Experience:

5 years relevant experience in Healthcare Technology or Engineering 1 year of which in

Clinical Engineering Licensure:

Valid Virginia Driver's License required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs. The pay range for this role is $67,859.00 - $135,718.00 annually. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
