Job Title:
Designer Draftsman Job Description As a Designer Draftsman, you create and revise detailed 2D drawings and 3D CAD models using SolidWorks to support engineering and production activities. You play a key role in maintaining accurate design documentation, collaborating with engineering teams, and ensuring all drawings meet established standards and requirements. Responsibilities Create and revise precise 2D drawings and 3D CAD models using SolidWorks to support product design and development. Support engineering teams by preparing, updating, and organizing documentation and technical drawings. Maintain drawing revisions and design records to ensure all documentation is current and traceable. Assist with design changes related to prototypes and production, incorporating feedback from engineering and manufacturing teams. Ensure all drawings and models are accurate, complete, and compliant with company standards and drafting practices. Essential Skills Hands-on experience using SolidWorks, gained through academic projects, internships, or professional work. Basic understanding of mechanical drawings, including dimensions, tolerances, and drafting principles. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing accurate and high-quality drawings and models. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and communicate clearly with engineering staff. Willingness to learn new tools, processes, and standards and to continuously improve drafting skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Exposure to or experience in the automotive industry is a plus but not required. Familiarity with general engineering documentation practices and revision control is beneficial. Interest in mechanical design and manufacturing processes is advantageous. Work Environment You work closely with engineering teams in a collaborative, project-focused environment that emphasizes accuracy, documentation quality, and continuous improvement. Daily work involves using SolidWorks and related design tools to create and update drawings and models, contributing to both prototype and production activities. The setting supports knowledge sharing and teamwork, with clear standards and procedures guiding drafting and design documentation. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Huntington Beach, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
