The right candidate can independently create dimensioned floor plans, exterior elevations, and detailed interior elevations in AutoCAD or compatible DWG-based software. This is a production drafting position, not an entry-level training role. You should be comfortable working from field measurements, sketches, photographs, existing plans, design direction, and redlines; identifying missing information; and completing coordinated drawings with limited oversight. What You Will Do Create and revise residential CAD drawing sets for remodels, additions, and new construction. Produce existing-condition, demolition, and proposed floor plans with accurate dimensions, notes, openings, room names, and references. Develop exterior elevations showing rooflines, openings, materials, grades, and key vertical dimensions. Create detailed interior elevations for kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, bars, fireplaces, built-ins, cabinetry, millwork, tile layouts, plumbing fixtures, lighting, and finish transitions. Prepare roof plans, reflected ceiling plans, building sections, wall sections, and construction details when required. Translate measurements, sketches, photographs, PDFs, existing plans, and design markups into coordinated CAD drawings. Incorporate redlines accurately and maintain consistency across plans, elevations, sections, details, schedules, and sheet references. Prepare and revise drawings for municipal permit submittals and plan-review comments under the direction of the project team. Verify dimensions, scale, annotations, line weights, and drawing coordination before issuing drawings for review. Maintain organized files, layers, blocks, external references, layouts, and project documentation. Required Qualifications Professional residential drafting experience using AutoCAD or compatible DWG-based CAD software. Demonstrated ability to independently produce dimensioned floor plans, exterior elevations, and detailed interior elevations. Interior-elevation experience showing cabinetry and millwork layouts, appliances, plumbing fixtures, mounting heights, materials, dimensions, and callouts. Working knowledge of residential construction methods, architectural drafting standards, and building terminology. Ability to read and coordinate plans, elevations, sections, details, structural information, and consultant drawings. Proficiency with layers, line types, line weights, blocks, dimensions, text styles, hatching, external references, layouts, viewports, plotting, and PDF publishing. Strong accuracy, organization, time management, communication, and follow-through. Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and communicate missing information or conflicts promptly. Preferred Experience Residential remodeling, additions, and custom-home construction. Field measuring and preparation of existing-condition or as-built drawings. Permit drawing sets for Dallas-Fort Worth municipalities and responses to city plan-review comments. Roof plans, reflected ceiling plans, building sections, wall sections, and construction details. Coordination with builders, interior designers, engineers, and trade partners. Required Work Samples Please submit a resume and two or three residential drawing samples that you personally produced.

Pay:
