Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented AutoCAD Draftsperson to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating precise technical drawings, plans, and layouts using AutoCAD software. The draftsperson will collaborate closely with the Lead engineer, Production Manager, Sales team and customers, to ensure designs are accurate, meet specifications, and comply with industry standards and are manufacturable.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Create preliminary design sketches for conceptual analysis
  • Create engineering drawings and designs for production and manufacturing
  • Create design specifications, documentation, and material lists
  • Verify drawings are correct to specifications, codes, and other regulations Interpret and translate design concepts, sketches, and specifications into accurate drafting documents.
Prepare detailed technical drawings, blueprints, and layouts using AutoCAD. Review drawings to ensure compliance with company standards, codes, and project requirements. Collaborate with Sales and Customers to resolve design conflicts and discrepancies to receive approval and then present to manufacturing. Update and revise existing drawings as required by project changes or client feedback. Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, and project documentation. Ensure deadlines are met while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Stay current with industry trends, drafting techniques, and AutoCAD software updates. Communicate the customers' needs/requirements to the Production team.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or associate degree in Drafting, Design, Engineering Technology, or a related field (bachelor's degree preferred). 3 to 5 years' experience and a high proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with other design software (e.g., Revit, SolidWorks, or Civil 3D) is a plus. Strong technical knowledge of drafting standards, symbols, and practices. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications. Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Experience in [industry-specific focus, e.g., construction, manufacturing, architecture, or mechanical design] is preferred. Ability to operate computer-aided design (CAD) software and manual drafting workstations Experience with Stainless Steel and Aluminum is a plus. Ability to multitask and manage several projects at a time Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy Interpersonal skills to work within a team, taking direction from multiple sources. Time management skills to complete error-free work within the required timeframe Communication skills with an emphasis on reading and writing for creating documentation and reports Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to develop creative solutions
Work Environment:
Office-based position with potential site visits depending on project requirements. Fast-paced environment with multiple projects and deadlines. Shop floor assisting the staff on the designs and needs of the Engineers and Customers.
