Job Description

Project Engineer Ottumwa, IA, $100,000 to $140,000 annually A worldwide manufacturing company operating in over 70 countries with more than 160,000 employees is hiring a Capital Project Engineer for its Ottumwa, IA facility. This role plans, supports, and executes engineering deliverables across core technology and engineering areas, working independently on complex issues while developing and applying engineering standards and procedures within the food manufacturing environment. Schedule Full time, on site in Ottumwa, IA. Compensation $100,000 to $140,000 annually. What You'll Do This role plans, designs, and estimates time and cost for construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, systems, and components, while analyzing and developing solutions to engineering problems related to manufacturing equipment, systems, and component failures. The engineer will handle complex issues independently with minimal supervision, escalating only the most significant issues as needed. Responsibilities include coordinating staffing and development of construction, commissioning, and start up plans, leading equipment specification and procurement, and developing, reviewing, and awarding bid packages for equipment and labor. The role also involves informally mentoring and coaching early career engineers through hands on training and project work, managing multimillion dollar budgets, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field Minimum of 4 years of related engineering work experience Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated ability to execute large capital projects or a portfolio of projects Previous experience in food manufacturing Compensation and Benefits $100,000 to $140,000 annually Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401k retirement plan Paid time off To apply, submit your resume for consideration.
