Job Description

Control Systems Engineer Location:
St.
Joe, IN Pay:
$85-$110/hour, based on experience
Schedule:
Full-time We are looking for an experienced Control Systems Engineer to support the development and commissioning of new, highly automated manufacturing lines. This is not a maintenance or production troubleshooting role . You will work with a corporate automation engineering team to design, program, integrate, and commission new control systems from the ground up . What You'll Be Doing Write and develop PLC programs for new automated production equipment Program Allen-Bradley ControlLogix using Studio 5000 Develop machine sequences, interlocks, alarms, AOIs, UDTs, and reusable controls code Develop and integrate Ignition
HMI/SCADA
applications Integrate PLCs with: VFDs and motors Servo/motion systems Robotics Vision systems Safety systems Instrumentation OEM equipment Develop PLC-to-SCADA and equipment-to-equipment communications Review controls architecture, electrical designs, I/O, and industrial networks Work directly with OEMs and system integrators Participate in FAT and controls testing Support equipment installation, startup, and commissioning Debug and optimize programs during production startup Help establish controls standards for future automated manufacturing lines What We're Looking For 8+ years of controls or industrial automation experience preferred Strong hands-on PLC programming experience Advanced Allen-Bradley / Rockwell experience Strong Studio 5000 / ControlLogix programming Experience writing PLC programs from scratch Experience with new machinery, equipment installations, or automated production lines
HMI/SCADA
development experience Experience taking projects from programming through field commissioning Ability to independently own complex controls-development projects Ignition Hands-on Inductive Automation Ignition development experience is highly preferred.
Relevant Ignition experience may include:
Perspective or Vision Tags and UDTs Alarming Historian OPC SQL/database integration Scripting Gateway configuration Reusable templates and standards We are specifically interested in engineers who have developed systems in Ignition , not only used or supported an existing Ignition application. Additional Experience We Like PowerFlex Kinetix GuardLogix Servo/motion control Robotics integration Machine vision Industrial Ethernet/IP High-speed manufacturing Material handling OEM machinery Systems integration Greenfield/new-line projects Who This Role Is For This is a strong fit if your background is in: Controls systems integration Machine building OEM automation PLC software development Corporate automation engineering New equipment commissioning You should be comfortable being given a new machine or production-line concept and taking the controls portion through: Design PLC Programming
