Location 439 South Florida Ave Lakeland, FL 33801 Work Arrangement On-site (No Remote) Salary $90,000-$130,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications Position Summary We are seeking an experienced, licensed Civil Professional Engineer (PE) to serve as our in-house engineering expert. This role provides technical leadership and engineering oversight for a diverse portfolio of civil projects supporting the company's operations. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in stormwater management, site development, drainage design, permitting, and regulatory coordination. This individual should be comfortable making technical decisions, solving complex engineering challenges, and collaborating with professionals from a variety of industries in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned engineer who enjoys being involved throughout the entire project lifecycle-from planning and design through permitting and construction. Responsibilities Serve as the company's in-house civil engineering resource and technical expert. Lead the engineering planning and design of civil infrastructure and site development projects. Prepare, review, and seal engineering plans, reports, calculations, specifications, and construction documents. Develop and review stormwater management systems and drainage designs in accordance with applicable regulations. Coordinate with municipalities, permitting agencies, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders. Provide engineering guidance during project planning, design, permitting, and construction. Review project feasibility and identify practical engineering solutions to support project objectives. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal engineering standards and permitting requirements. Conduct site visits and field observations as needed. Mentor technical staff and provide engineering leadership across project teams. Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to support projects spanning multiple industries. Manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university. Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required. Florida PE preferred or ability to obtain Florida licensure through reciprocity. 10-15+ years of progressive civil engineering experience. Extensive experience in stormwater management, drainage analysis, and stormwater system design. Strong background in land development and site civil engineering. Thorough understanding of Florida permitting requirements and applicable engineering standards. Experience coordinating with municipalities, water management districts, and regulatory agencies. Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office. Proven ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and competing priorities. Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Comfortable working with diverse teams representing multiple technical disciplines and industries. Preferred Qualifications Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license. Experience serving as Engineer of Record. Familiarity with Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD), FDOT, county, and municipal permitting processes. Experience supporting projects from concept through construction. Strong problem-solving skills with a practical, solutions-oriented mindset.
