Job Title:
Staff Engineer Planning and Development Department Starting Annual Salary:
S105,000.00

•135,066.00 (Commensurate with Education and Experience) Education, Experience and Skill Requirements Bachelor's degree in engineering. Minimum of 6 years of experience in civil engineering, municipal engineering, or a related engineering fietd. Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas. Demonstrates strong analytical skills with the ability to define problems, evaluate data, and draw evidence-based conclusions. Valid Driver's License Primary Job Duties Conducts comprehensive reviews of plats, subdivision layouts, permitting reviews, floodplain management applications, and site development plans to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and design standards. Field inspections and analysis of drainage, construction, and infrastructure. Review of testing and engineering analysis Assist with administration of engineering contracts Provide broad knowledge of road construction, public infrastructure, hydrologic and hydraulic engineering principles, practices, and methods, and their practical application Attend meetings on behalf of department and supervisors. Review hydrologic and hydraulic modeling submittals to support development plan applications and ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations Review of on-site sewage facitity plans (training available if needed in this area) Perform hydraulic and hydrologic modeling using specialized engineering software Performs other job responsibilities as assigned. This position is required to perform a range of physical activities to ensure compliance with standards, requirements, and codes. The physical demands for these roles can include, but are not limited to: driving, standing, walking, lifting, bending, stooping, and other activities necessary to perform visual and audible reviews and inspections M-F Background requirements: Candidates must pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Due to the nature of the employers business, candidates with felony convictions will not be considered.
