Acts as staff specialist in the application of advanced theories, concepts, and principles for an assigned area of responsibility. The incumbent must be capable of analyzing all technical aspects of the subject area, defining the scope and selecting problems for investigation, developing novel concepts and approaches, and recommending major architectural design changes. Develops advanced architectural concepts, design techniques, and standards; viewed as expert within the company. Develops solutions to problems of unusual complexity scope that require a high degree of innovation and ingenuity. Work performed under consultative direction toward long-range goals and objectives. Accomplishes results through less experienced architects. Directs project work based on general policies and management guidance. Work is reviewed on completion for adequacy in meeting objectives. Requires a BS/BA degree in Architecture and typically 8-11 years, drafting/design and related experience. Professional registration is required. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these Essential functions: Ensures all construction documents conform to the contractual scope of work and implements changes in scope in a timely manner to maintain the schedule. Has full technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating architectural design assignments involving unique or controversial problems which significantly affect major projects. May plan, organize, and supervise architectural design activities for a major project - project or lead Architect. (e.g., a complex multi-structure facility requiring considerable interface and collaboration with various engineering disciplines). Responsible for keeping up to date with new developments in design and construction methods.
