Student Intern, Architectural Technology

Job Description

We are seeking a student intern from the second year Architectural Technology class to assist in various architectural duties for the college including, but not limited to, the annual housing project permit drawings, existing conditions measurements and verification for college owned residences, and other drawings that may be requested by TSCT instructors to enhance their coursework. It is of the utmost importance that the student intern has strong independent working skills to complete tasks at a high level on established deadlines. The student must be self-motivated and able to discuss design and construction drawings with the various instructors on campus. The student intern can work in the ArchTech studio or at home if they have reliable equipment (computer) which can sufficiently operate the required software. The instructor will create a shared folder where all working and final files are to be saved to ensure documents are accessible by all required parties.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist in finalizing drawing set to be submitted for the annual housing project building permit
  • Conduct existing conditions surveying and documentation of TSCT campus buildings
  • Other various architectural drawing duties
Qualifications:
  • Must be a second year student in the Architectural Technology program.
  • Proficiency in AutoDesk Revit and AutoCad softwares.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret technical drawings.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent time management and independent working skills in order to complete tasks at a high level on established deadlines. Skills the student intern will gain:
  • Real-world experience in architectural design and campus planning
  • Portfolio-worthy projects and exposure to institutional design processes
