Role Description The Outdoor Living Project Designer is a full-time, on-site role based in Montgomeryville, PA, responsible for planning, designing, and supporting the delivery of custom outdoor structures. This role includes meeting with clients to understand their needs, developing design concepts and layouts, and preparing detailed drawings or visual presentations that align with brand standards and product capabilities. The designer collaborates closely with sales, installation, and project management teams to ensure accurate measurements, effective material selection, and smooth project execution from concept to completion. Daily tasks involve site visits, design revisions, coordinating with vendors and partners, and maintaining clear documentation for each project. The role also includes educating clients about product features and smart technology options, while ensuring designs comply with local codes, structural requirements, and company quality guidelines. Qualifications Demonstrated skills in outdoor space planning and design, including layout development and visualization of structures such as pergolas and shade systems. Proficiency with design or drafting tools (e.g., CAD software, 3D modeling, or similar platforms) and the ability to produce clear drawings and project documentation. Understanding of construction principles, materials (such as aluminum and steel), basic structural considerations, and familiarity with local building codes or permitting processes. Strong client-facing communication skills, including the ability to conduct site visits, gather requirements, present design concepts, and respond to feedback professionally. Ability to collaborate effectively with sales, installation, and project management teams, coordinating schedules, specifications, and installation details. Comfort working with or learning smart home and outdoor technologies (e.g., smart-louver systems, app- or voice-controlled features) to integrate them into designs. Detail-oriented approach, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Relevant education or experience in architecture, landscape design, interior design, construction management, or related fields; portfolio of previous design work is highly beneficial.
