Job Description

The Canyon Lake Property Owners Association (CLPOA) is currently accepting applications for a Full-time Operations Mechanic - Experienced. Canyon Lake is one of only five gated cities in California. With 14.9 miles of shoreline and 500 surface acres, Canyon Lake is surrounded by 4,000 custom built homes and lots within a private gated community of over 12,000 residents. The CLPOA is the captive management company for property owners within the City of Canyon Lake, CA. The vast majority of city-wide operations, public works, facilities, physical assets, and maintenance and improvement functions are performed and managed by the CLPOA. Other unique community assets maintained and managed by the CLPOA include: 36 miles of roads, three gated secure entrances, a private security patrol and marine patrol, The Lighthouse Restaurant & Bar, banquet and wedding venues, tennis center, water ski slalom course and jump, a lakefront 54-site RV campground, 16 beautiful parks and beaches, equestrian center, and a stunning Ted Robinson designed 18 hole Golf & Country Club, which includes our second restaurant, the Country Club Bar & Grill. The CLPOA, incorporated in 1968, as a California nonprofit corporation, is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the common areas within Canyon Lake. Position Type:
Full-time, Monday through Friday, 7:00 A.M. - 4:00 P.M.
PURPOSE:
The duties of an Experienced Operations Mechanic will be performed under the direction of the Operations Manager and Director of Operations for the purpose(s) of assisting with the day-to-day work flow and operation of the department to ensure optimal efficiency of maintenance and repairs, assigned tasks and projects through to completion.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND REAPONSIBILITIES
The position requires a broad range of intermediate-level mechanical, maintenance, and repair skills, including:
  • Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on fleet vehicles.
  • Maintain and repair boats, marine equipment, and related components.
  • Perform metal fabrication and welding.
  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair small engines, power tools, and other equipment.
  • Perform basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Service and repair commercial kitchen and restaurant appliances.
  • Assist with HVAC and refrigeration system maintenance and servicing.
  • Research and order replacement parts, supplies, and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate service records and complete basic data entry.
  • Communicate through email and other departmental systems.
  • Respond to emergency service calls during assigned on-call periods.
  • Follow all applicable safety and environmental health procedures.
  • Complete assigned work orders, tasks, and projects in a timely and professional manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Demonstrated experience in vehicle maintenance, small-engine repair, equipment repair, and metal fabrication.
  • Working knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Ability to repair and maintain various types of equipment, including vehicles, boats, power tools, and small engines.
  • Basic computer skills, including email, online parts research, and data entry.
  • Valid California driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • High School Diploma or possession of a GED Certificate
EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of five years of experience in mechanical repair, fabrication, equipment maintenance, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of workplace safety and environmental health procedures.
  • Working knowledge of vehicles, boats, small engines, power tools, and related equipment.
  • Experience in a community association, facilities, or similar operational environment is preferred.

PHYSICAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry at least 75 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and perform physical work for extended periods.
  • Must be able to work outdoors for prolonged periods in varying weather conditions.
  • Must be available for emergency call-ins during assigned one-week on-call rotations.
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment physical examination, substance-abuse screening, and background check.
Pay:
$23.00 - $28.00 per hour
