Job Description
Automation Technician - Join a Growing Manufacturing Team We're supporting a well-established food manufacturer looking to recruit an experienced Automation Technician to join their engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in automation, PLCs, controls and maintenance who is looking for long-term career progression. You'll work directly alongside the current Automation Supervisor, gaining a full understanding of the facility before progressing into the role as part of a planned retirement succession. What You'll Be Doing Troubleshoot and repair automated production and packaging equipment. Diagnose electrical, mechanical and controls-related faults. Perform preventative and predictive maintenance. Support PLC programming, troubleshooting and modifications. Assist with equipment installations and commissioning. Minimise downtime through effective fault finding and root cause analysis. Improve machine reliability and overall equipment performance (OEE). Support continuous improvement projects across the facility. Maintain maintenance records and documentation. Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures. What We're Looking For Previous experience as an Automation Technician , Controls Technician , Electrical Maintenance Technician or similar. Strong knowledge of industrial automation systems. Hands-on experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment. PLC programming experience (Allen-Bradley, Siemens or similar).
