Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Equipment Technician to maintain, repair, and service our fleet of turf maintenance equipment, vehicles, and small engines. This position plays a critical role in keeping equipment safe, reliable, to ensure daily maintenance operations. During the golf offseason, this role transitions to support winter ski hill operations.
Job Responsibilities Equipment Maintenance:
Perform routine and preventative maintenance on tractors, utility vehicles, loaders, mowers, aerifiers, sprayers, and small engines. Troubleshoot and fix mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and fuel-system problems. Execute oil changes, lubrication, belt replacements, filter changes, and fluid checks.
Offseason Ski Operations Support:
Assist with winter operations as required, including the maintenance, troubleshooting, and preparation of ski hill equipment, lifts, snowmobiles, and snowmaking systems.
Diagnostics & Repair:
Reel & Cutting-Unit Care:
Perform reel and bed knife grinding, sharpening, and setup to manufacturer specifications to maintain a high-quality turf environment.
Shop & Inventory Management:
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe repair shop while monitoring inventory for parts, fluids, filters, belts, and bearings.
Record Keeping:
Track and maintain accurate service history logs for all equipment repairs and maintenance.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and winter operations supervisors to prioritize daily repair needs, seasonal equipment transitions, spring startup, and winterization.
Job Requirements & Qualifications Experience:
Previous mechanic experience preferred; prior golf course or ski resort mechanic experience is a plus, but not required.
Skills & Aptitudes:
Strong mechanical aptitude, practical problem-solving skills, and excellent attention to detail.
Core Traits:
Dependable, punctual, organized, with strong communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Demands:
Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs., as well as carry, push, and pull equipment, tools, and parts. Education & Training Willingness to

Training Opportunities:
Includes reel and bed knife grinding, cutting-unit setup, preventative maintenance procedures, hydraulic/electrical troubleshooting, small-engine diagnostics, and ski lift/snowmaking equipment basics.
Working Conditions Environment:
Work is performed both indoors in a maintenance shop and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme winter environments.
Exposure:
Regular exposure to noise, dirt, dust, grease, fuels, snow, and lubricants.

Requires a flexible schedule, including early mornings, weekends, holidays, and occasional emergency work during peak golf and ski seasons.
