Job Description

Scenic Automation Technician - Five Points Rigging | Bell Buckle, TN We work in live entertainment — concerts, theatrical productions, and large-scale touring shows. Our scenic automation systems put motors, hoists, and moving set pieces in motion in front of thousands of people, and we need someone who understands that world from the inside. This is not an industrial controls role. If you've operated or maintained entertainment motion control systems — specifically Niscon Raynok or a comparable platform — and you want to go deeper on the design and engineering side without living on a tour bus, this is the job. This role is based full-time at our main warehouse in Bell Buckle, TN. What You'll Do Design and develop automation and control systems for scenic and live entertainment applications — primarily electrical, with some mechanical elements Work with entertainment chain hoists and motion control platforms in a design and integration capacity Program, configure, and troubleshoot VFDs, PLCs, and control hardware in a show context Operate motion control systems on the show site during live productions (a few weeks per year) Use Autodesk Fusion for design and documentation work Identify problems, engineer better solutions, and push our systems forward What We're Looking For Hands-on experience with entertainment motion control platforms — Niscon Raynok or similar is required Background as an automation operator in live entertainment, theatre, or touring production Controls background that supports entertainment applications — VFDs, PLCs, and safety logic in a show context Proficiency in Autodesk Fusion and KiCAD for electrical and mechanical design work Experience with entertainment chain hoists and how they integrate into automated scenic systems Able to think through a system from concept to show-ready commissioning Self-directed and comfortable owning your discipline in a small shop environment This Role Is a Great Fit If You're... A touring automation tech or show operator ready to come off the road and build something more permanent A theatrical automation specialist looking to cross into the concert touring world Someone who has run Raynok or a comparable platform and wants to go deeper on the design and engineering side What You Get Full-time position (1099 Sub-Contractor) Real ownership over a specialized discipline within a growing company A small, tight-knit team that takes the work seriously without a lot of corporate overhead
