This position is responsible for splicing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting fiber optic and coaxial cable as part of cable construction projects. The ideal candidate has experience in telecom, fiber, coax, or cable construction and understands the importance of quality work, accurate documentation, and job-site safety. What You'll Do Perform fiber optic and coaxial cable splicing and termination Read and understand fiber/coax splice diagrams, prints, and construction plans Prepare, splice, and organize fiber and coax cables Perform testing and troubleshooting using appropriate fiber and coax test equipment Assist with troubleshooting signal and connectivity issues Identify and repair damaged or improperly installed cable Work with aerial and underground cable construction crews Assist with cable placement and preparation when needed Maintain accurate splice records, test results, and job documentation Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles Follow all company and job-site safety procedures Requirements Previous fiber, coax, cable, or telecommunications experience preferred Experience with fiber and/or coax splicing preferred Ability to read construction plans and splice diagrams Comfortable working outdoors and on active construction sites Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical work as needed Valid driver's license required Reliable transportation to job sites Ability to travel to different project locations as needed Preferred (but not required) Experience with fiber optic splicing and testing Experience with coax splicing and activation Experience with OTDR, power meter, or other fiber testing equipment Experience with aerial cable construction Experience working from bucket trucks or around utility poles What We Offer Full-time steady work Competitive pay based on experience Opportunity for advancement within the telecommunications industry Work with an experienced cable construction team Opportunity to expand your skills in fiber, coax, and telecommunications construction If you have hands-on experience with fiber or coax splicing and want to be part of a professional telecommunications construction crew, we would like to hear from you.
