Controls Engineer

Job Description

Develops, integrates, commissions, and troubleshoots PLC-based control systems for industrial automation and manufacturing equipment. Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation/Controls Engineering, or a related discipline. 3+ years of PLC programming experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Proficiency with Siemens S7 controllers, including S7-1200 or S7-1500. Proficiency with Allen-Bradley CompactLogix or ControlLogix controllers. Experience developing ladder logic. Experience developing structured text programs. Strong understanding of industrial control logic design. Experience commissioning automated equipment and control systems. Experience troubleshooting PLC-based automation systems. Experience with electrical system design and controls integration. Proficiency with electrical drawings and control schematic documentation. Ability to travel less than 15% for customer commissioning and technical support. Preferred Skills Siemens TIA Portal experience. Allen-Bradley Studio 5000 experience. Knowledge of industrial Ethernet and machine networking. EtherNet/IP experience.

Experience with P&ID documentation. Experience with electrical schematic design software. SCADA experience. HMI development experience. Knowledge of ANSI machine safety requirements. Knowledge of

Knowledge of CE marking requirements. Job Responsibilities Develop PLC programs and automation control logic for industrial equipment. Program Siemens S7 and Allen-Bradley CompactLogix or ControlLogix controllers. Develop ladder logic and structured text applications. Design and integrate electrical control systems for automated machinery. Develop and maintain electrical schematics, controls documentation, and system drawings. Configure and integrate industrial communication networks. Integrate PLC controls with robotics, motion systems, sensors, drives, and other automation equipment. Develop and configure HMI, SCADA, or supervisory control functionality as required. Perform control system testing, startup, and commissioning. Troubleshoot PLC programs, electrical systems, industrial networks, and automated equipment. Support customer-site commissioning and production startup activities. Diagnose control system performance issues and implement corrective modifications. Coordinate controls integration requirements with mechanical and robotic engineering functions. Verify automated systems meet applicable machine safety and operational requirements. Maintain control programs, system backups, drawings, and technical documentation.
Pay:
