Professional Summary The Client is seeking a Senior Instrument & Electrical (I&E) Designer to oversee I&E drafting, design package execution, and database management. This role plays a critical part in supporting Management of Change (MOC) processes, managing the SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI) database, and leading system migration projects across facility units. Additionally, the position involves providing technical oversight and mentoring junior design personnel to ensure high-quality construction deliverables. Core Responsibilities Execute and revise comprehensive I&E technical drawings throughout the design and MOC workflows. Assemble detailed I&E design packages to support facility construction and field implementation. Provide multi-phase design assistance and technical continuity across active engineering projects. Track, evaluate, and report project status and milestones for ongoing and upcoming SPI migrations. Manage, maintain, and optimize the site-wide SPI Database across all refinery operational units. Direct, train, and mentor junior Designers and Drafters on SPI standards and design best practices. Perform routine field walkdowns to verify design integrity and operational safety compliance. Required Qualifications Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Drafting and Design, or equivalent technical accreditation. Proven technical expertise in Instrument & Electrical Design within an industrial setting. In-depth knowledge of I&E industry standards, design methodologies, and operational practices. Advanced proficiency and hands-on expertise in SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI). Demonstrated experience migrating legacy engineering systems and databases into SPI. Proficiency in AutoCAD (or equivalent computer-aided design software) and standard office productivity suites (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to execute tasks safely within both corporate office and active refinery field environments. Strong written and verbal communication, analytical, and interpersonal capabilities. Preferred Qualifications Prior design experience within the refining, petrochemical, or energy processing sectors. Technical familiarity with Falcon software. Operational experience with SAP enterprise resource planning systems.
