AUTOMATION CONSULTANT JOB DESCRIPTION
Think-PLC is seeking a self-motivated and effective Programmer to support our operations. Thoroughness and attention to detail are required as a significant amount of time will be spent working with complex PLC programs and electrical control systems.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the daily needs of Think-PLC clients through installation, programming, start-up and maintenance of automation and electrical equipment. Selection of Electrical & Instrumentation components as required per specifications. Preparing Electrical Schematics and Panel drawings, as well as incorporating changes to drawings Assisting in Assembly / Fabrication of Control Panels as required Assisting in Generating Preliminary Bill of Materials for Proposals Assisting in Panel check-out (hardware acceptance test) Specify Programmable Logic Controller Modules based on Instrumentation Lists and/or legacy drawings Collaborate with all members of the engineering team & electrical panel shop to successfully specify needed components for operation and installation of the equipment Intentionally seek opportunities to grow and develop others as well as yourself Give and receive constructive feedback effectively Ability to listen to our customers in order to understand their challenges and opportunities Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 3-5 years of related automation experience with HMI, SCADA, PLC's and general control system design. 5 years of experience with complex automation control systems. High level of experience with Siemens or Rockwell PLC platforms. Associate degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred. Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university preferred. Proficient in the use of Microsoft operating systems and Office programs including Word and Excel. Must be able to read and understand P&ID's, construction drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics. Experience in the configuration and development of
