Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Controls Engineer to join our innovative manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, troubleshooting, and maintaining advanced industrial control systems that optimize manufacturing processes. Requirements:
Accredited 4-year engineering degree or computer science degree looked upon favorable Automation / machine-building experience in an academic or work setting Knowledge of National Electrical Code, OSHA machine safety standards Knowledge of programming PLCs and machine controls Knowledge of programming Robots preferred Knowledge of Safety Circuits for Automation Cells Ability to accurately create electrical drawings Ability to accurately specify electrical components required by a system Demonstrated experience handling multiple projects simultaneously High level of excitement about working with automation in a constantly evolving environment Effective communication with management, customers, and vendors.
Responsibilities include the following:
PLC programing Robotic Programing Electrical Drawings Compliance with Electrical Code Specification of Electrical Components Design automation machinery using AutoCAD Analyze and verify existing models in AutoCAD & SolidWorks Design safety circuit Generate print packages for part production Manage the fabrication of electrical controls with vendors and in-house technicians Comprehend and document automation process including machine sequence and work instructions Coordination with Metal Fabrication, Engineering and Software Managers Implementation of Equipment/Controls Package for Equipment Management of Electrical Assembly Supervision and Training of Electrical Technicians Shop Organization and Cleanliness Wiring systems and mounting components when required Testing and Troubleshooting assembled systems General Safety Team Player Additional duties assigned as needed. Design, program, and commission PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems using ladder logic (LD) and other engineering programming languages to automate manufacturing equipment and processes. Develop and configure human-machine interface (HMI) systems for seamless operator interaction with industrial controls and robotic systems. Troubleshoot and repair PLC systems, industrial electrical systems, and robotic controls such as Fanuc robotic platforms to ensure minimal downtime. Integrate industrial networks and distributed control systems (DCS) for reliable data communication across manufacturing equipment. Collaborate with mechanical engineers to interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and AutoCAD or SolidWorks drawings for system installation and upgrades. Conduct root cause analysis of control system failures, implement corrective actions, and document troubleshooting procedures. Support robotics engineering efforts by programming robot arms, including robot programming for automation tasks involving vision inspection systems and tooling. Requirements Proven experience practicing in an industrial or manufacturing engineering role with a focus on controls or automation. Strong knowledge of industrial controls including PLC programming, PLC troubleshooting, ladder logic (LD), and industrial equipment troubleshooting. Hands-on experience with Fanuc robotics or similar robotic systems used in manufacturing environments. Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, schematics interpretation, blueprint reading, and understanding mechanical knowledge related to tooling and machining. Familiarity with industrial electrical systems, industrial networks, distributed control systems (DCS), and safety standards such as CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practice). Skilled in programming human-machine interface (HMI) configuration and integration of vision inspection systems. Ability to perform engineering troubleshooting using root cause analysis techniques; experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks is a plus. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to support continuous process improvements in a high-volume production setting. Pay:
$80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
