Job Description

Sigma Technologies, Ltd., an engineering-driven firm in Perrysburg, Ohio, seeks a Power Designer to support utility and energy distribution projects. In this role, you will design overhead and underground power distribution, prepare construction drawings and work orders, perform field data collection, and apply NESC and utility standards to ensure safe, reliable designs. You'll collaborate closely with engineers, GIS specialists, and clients in a small, team-oriented environment that emphasizes precision, innovation, and continuous learning, with opportunities to grow into project leadership roles. Responsibilities Design overhead and underground power distribution for utility and energy clients. Prepare detailed construction drawings, work orders, and bills of materials. Apply NESC, utility standards, and safety requirements to all designs. Conduct field visits to collect site data, verify existing conditions, and support constructability. Collaborate with engineers, designers, and GIS staff to integrate design and spatial data. Coordinate with clients to clarify scope, resolve design issues, and accommodate schedule needs. Review designs for accuracy, quality, and compliance with company and client standards. Support project managers with estimates, schedules, and project documentation. Maintain organized design files, records, and as-built updates. Participate in continuous improvement, training, and knowledge-sharing within the team. Required Skills Power distribution design (overhead and underground) Utility standards and NESC knowledge Auto CAD or Micro Station GIS and spatial data interpretation Load calculations and conductor/transformer sizing Construction drawing and plan set development Field data collection and site walkdowns Work order and BOM preparation Knowledge of permitting and right-of-way requirements Quality assurance and design review
