Electrical Energy Marshal Responsibilities:

Verify that all safe working conditions are in place by reviewing relevant documentation such as procedures, job hazard analyses, and permits, while also auditing the electrical energy control program for construction, commissioning, maintenance, and operational tasks. Collaborate closely with construction and commissioning teams, along with other stakeholders, to confirm safe environments for testing, validating, and operating MEP systems. Coordinate all electrical energization and de-energization activities with fellow energy marshals and involved parties to maintain safety and communication. Lead pre-energization and energization kickoff meetings prior to any first-of-kind (FoK) system or equipment energization to ensure readiness and compliance. Possess a thorough understanding of the Commissioning Plan of Record and related specifications as they pertain to equipment energization on the project site. Promote and implement electrical safety enhancements, both on current projects and in future design improvements. Execute and maintain the site-specific Electrical Safety Plan, ensuring adherence to established standards and best practices. Review Near-Energized Work conditions and develop detailed risk assessments to determine the safest work methods for energized environments. Maintain a strong field presence during major commissioning and electrical isolation activities, including FoK events, MOPs, MV operations, and activities in turned-over spaces. Coordinate daily activities and planning with the Commissioning Team Lead (Cx Lead) to ensure smooth operations. Actively participate in Safety LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) inspections and audits to verify compliance and effectiveness. Manage all LOTO and outage requests in coordination with MC Dean Safety, the General Contractor, the Client, and any affected vendors or subcontractors. Align energization requirements with the commissioning schedule to minimize disruption and ensure project milestones are achieved. Oversee and coordinate access and egress for restricted or access-controlled areas as required. Conduct training sessions for new and current personnel on Energy Isolation processes and safe work procedures. Train and evaluate individuals to verify their competency in performing LOTO specific to each equipment type. Attend and contribute to daily commissioning meetings and weekly all-hands meetings to share updates and address safety topics. Develop, review, and approve LOTO permits, ensuring completeness and accuracy. Lead or participate in MC Dean Operational Risk Management (ORM) safety briefings with commissioning teams and vendor partners. Confirm that all personal protective equipment (PPE), tools, and materials used on-site are appropriate, inspected, and safe for operation. Electrical Energy Marshal Experience & Background Experience

• Minimum of 10 years in electrical construction, with at least 2 years serving in a supervisory, foreman, or leadership capacity overseeing field operations or crews. Technical Proficiency
• Extensive background in the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of building MEP systems, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, fire alarm, security, life safety, and controls systems. Backup Power Systems
• Hands-on experience working with generator and battery backup systems, ensuring reliability and seamless transition during power interruptions. Education & Licensing Requirements Education & Experience
• High school diploma or GED required, with 10+ years of relevant experience in industrial or commercial field engineering, specifically within mission-critical environments and electrical infrastructure systems. Technical Expertise
• Possesses advanced knowledge of medium-voltage (MV > 1000V) and low-voltage (LV < 1000V) power distribution systems, including detailed understanding of sequence of operations (SOPs). Energy Isolation Skills
• Capable of identifying and isolating potential energy sources, recognizing back-feed conditions, and conducting absence-of-voltage verifications safely and accurately. Safety Certification
• Holds a valid

NFPA 70E

certification and demonstrates thorough understanding of electrical safety practices and compliance requirements. Field Experience

• Practical, hands-on experience performing system startups, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and voltage verification testing in live environments. Leadership Abilities
