This role involves conducting assessments and inspections of energy efficiency in residential buildings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction, quality control, and data collection, enabling them to evaluate energy performance effectively. As an Energy Field Rater, you will play a crucial role in promoting energy efficiency and sustainability within the community. Travel expenses will be covered. Responsibilities The HERS Rater / Rating Field Inspector / Home Energy Tester position at Oxalis Advisors involves conducting energy efficiency testing and inspections on new construction homes The role is essential for ensuring compliance with energy standards and providing valuable insights into energy performance Conduct a variety of energy efficiency testing and punch list inspections on new construction houses Prepare new construction homes for inspection services Conduct blower door testing Conduct ventilation testing Perform duct leakage testing Conduct code-based energy inspections Verify HERS, Energy Star, or other specialized program ratings Work with local site superintendents on job scheduling and test troubleshooting Communicate code and company standards to customers and local officials Conduct infrared scans Work within company software to complete test results and log reporting Prepare home performance reports Adhere to company communication standards, policies, and procedures Requirements Experience in construction inspection or construction management is preferred. Ability to travel and hold a good driver's license record Ability to communicate effectively with contractors, clients, and team members.
