Job Description

Overview of Chief Plant Engineer:
We are currently seeking an experienced Chief Plant Engineer on behalf of a respected mining operation based in Arizona. This pivotal role is focused on optimizing plant equipment performance, ensuring safety and compliance, and driving continuous operational improvements. The successful candidate will bring strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a background in the mining or heavy industrial sectors.
Key Responsibilities of Chief Plant Engineer Equipment Optimization:
Monitor and enhance the performance of critical process equipment and plant infrastructure.
Engineering Solutions:
Identify and resolve engineering issues, implementing both corrective and preventative measures.
Root Cause Analysis:
Lead root cause investigations and problem-solving initiatives across the site.
Project Management:
Oversee major projects including construction, expansion, and modifications. Manage full project lifecycle from drafting RFPs to contractor oversight.
Budget & Scheduling:
Develop and manage budgets and timelines while ensuring quality standards and regulatory compliance.
Asset Integrity:
Conduct detailed inspections and maintenance planning for fixed assets, including tanks and structural components.
Mentorship:
Support the development of junior engineering professionals within the team.
Vendor Relations:
Oversee contracts and relationships with third-party service providers and equipment vendors.
Strategic Support:
Advise site leadership on compliance, engineering strategy, and operational improvements.
Planning & Forecasting:
Contribute to department-level planning and budgeting processes.
Other Duties:
Perform additional tasks as required by management.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
Experience:
At least 3 years of engineering experience within mining or a similar heavy industrial environment.
