Position will oversee the District Traffic Section. Position is responsible for Access Management, through the permitting process for new developments. How does it get done? Position is responsible for the Traffic Operations Program, including maintenance of traffic for all work within State rights-of-way, guardrail, signing, striping, pavement markings, signals, and other miscellaneous roadway features. Position is responsible for the Transportation Program, including the proactive analysis and evaluation of existing road segments, intersections, ramps, and reviewing and providing input to scoping reports for planned projects, and developing and/or reviewing proposed construction and maintenance plans for new projects. All applicants must be licensed in accordance with Engineering and Surveying Practice Act, Sections 61-23-1 through 61-23-32 NMSA 1978 and 16.39.1 through 16.39.8 NMAC, as applicable Who are the customers? Minimum Qualification Bachelor of Science Degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant engineering discipline with licensure and five (5) years of engineering experience, one (1) of which must be as a Licensed Professional Engineer. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling nine (9) years may substitute for the required education and experience. Must be certified by the
NMBLPEPS
as a Licensed Professional Engineer in good standing within six (6) months of hire. Employment Requirements Employment requires successful completion of post offer pre-employment physical. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Business Reference check and Driver's License verification are required and employment is conditional pending results. Working Conditions Work is primarily performed in an office setting. Extensive use of personal computer. Travel throughout the state and occasional out of state travel may be required.
