Fire/Smoke/Odor Cleaning Technician and Content Processing Specialist

Job Description

The Content Technician is responsible for overseeing the handling, inventory, packing, cleaning, storage, and return of customer personal property during disaster restoration projects. This role ensures accurate documentation, chain of custody, warehouse organization, and communication between field staff and project management. The Content Supervisor does not directly manage customer interactions; all communication with clients is coordinated through the Project Manager.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Packing, transporting, cleaning, and storing contents. Ensure all items removed from job sites are properly inventoried, labeled, and photographed to maintain accurate records. Use company software (Restore, CT) to maintain digital inventory documentation. Ensure proper packing materials and methods are used to prevent damage. Oversee cleaning of contents using approved processes (ultrasonic, hand clean, deodorization, vendor coordination). Maintain organization and cleanliness of warehouse contents storage areas. Coordinate with Project Managers > Coordinator for job scheduling, pack-outs, pack-backs, and total loss documentation. Verify and reconcile contents lists for pack-back delivery and job completion. Manage disposal of non-restorable items with proper documentation and customer authorization (through the Project Manager / Coordinator). Monitor supply levels and request restock as needed.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Experience in disaster restoration, moving services, warehousing, or property inventory preferred. Strong organizational and record-keeping abilities. Ability to lead a team and coordinate job tasks. Basic computer and mobile device proficiency. Ability to lift, carry, and move items up to 50+ lbs regularly. Strong attention to detail and chain-of-custody accuracy. Ability to work in hot and cold weather conditions. Ability to wear a full or half face respirator when needed.

$20.00 - $22.00 per hour
