Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Construction Purchasing Agent to join our team and support the Purchasing Director in all aspects of procurement for a fast paced mechanical construction company. This individual will play a key role in managing purchase orders, vendor relationships, pricing strategies, and coordinating closely with internal departments.

HVAC Assistant Project Engineer Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Purchasing Director in daily purchasing operations and strategic procurement activities. Assist with change orders, submittals, and purchasing Issue, track, and manage purchase orders (POs) for materials, tools, and subcontracted services. Source and obtain competitive quotes from multiple vendors and suppliers. Build and maintain strong, professional vendor relationships to support project needs. Monitor and maintain current pricing for frequently purchased materials and equipment. Analyze vendor proposals to ensure quality, pricing, and delivery timelines meet company standards. Work with the Accounts Payable (AP) department to ensure timely invoice approvals and resolve discrepancies. Ensure practices comply with company policies and project specifications. Assist in tracking material deliveries and resolving delivery or quality issues.

Permits and Inspection Coordinator Qualifications:

3+ years of purchasing experience in the construction industry; mechanical construction preferred. Strong understanding of construction materials, equipment, and vendor pricing structures. Excellent follow up and organizational skills Proven experience in sourcing, quoting, and vendor negotiations. Ability to manage multiple procurement tasks in a deadline driven environment. Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of handling fast-paced workflows.

Preferred Traits:

Self-starter with a proactive attitude. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively. Capable of building trust and working as the "right hand" to the Purchasing Director. Knowledge of mechanical construction (HVAC, plumbing, piping, etc.) is a significant advantage. Bilingual (English, Spanish)

8 hour shift Monday to Friday 7:30am-4:00pm
