Not Available Join our team in East Peoria, Illinois, and help keep critical plant infrastructure running safely, efficiently, and reliably. In this role, you will support routine repair and maintenance and infrastructure activities within a manufacturing environment, serve as a front-line resource for building service needs, and support systems that keep operations moving. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career to mid-level facilities engineering professional who enjoys hands-on plant support, solving day-to-day operational issues, and partnering across manufacturing, maintenance, and support teams. Key Responsibilities Performing or assisting in routine maintenance or construction work. Monitoring and maintaining purchasing systems for repair and maintenance of infrastructure components and services. Serving as first line of support for building service problems and work requests. Assisting facility engineers and supporting manufacturing and other related departments. Develop scope of work to bid projects. Understand the bid estimation process to validate quotes from contractors. Contract oversight of the work that is to be performed. Manage and adhere to monthly and annual budget allocations. Working knowledge of facility health / facility health assessments Required Skills Facilities /
Manufacturing Environment Experience:
Exposure to plant facilities, maintenance operations, or industrial environments. Education /
Experience:
Degree or equivalent experience in engineering, facilities, or a related field.
Problem Solving:
Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve facility and infrastructure-related issues using structured approaches. Attention to
Detail & Execution:
Demonstrated ability to complete work accurately and maintain high standards across maintenance and facility support activities.
Communication & Service Orientation:
Effective communication skills with a strong focus on supporting internal customers and delivering high-quality service.
Planning & Coordination:
Ability to organize work, manage priorities, and support basic project or maintenance activities in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Skills Technical Knowledge:
Basic understanding of building infrastructure systems such as HVAC, electrical, mechanical, or utilities.
Project Management Exposure:
Familiarity with supporting small-scale projects, tracking tasks, or working with timelines and deliverables. Supplier /
Vendor Coordination:
Experience working with vendors, suppliers, or service providers in a plant or facilities setting.
Tools & Systems:
Experience with maintenance systems (CMMS), inventory tracking, or facility work request systems.
Summary Pay Range:
$89,210.00 - $133,810.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
