Our client is a specialty chemical company manufacturing and marketing additives primarily used in PVC applications around the world. We're looking for an experienced Maintenance and Reliability Engineer to join our client's team at their manufacturing site located at Hahnville, LA Position Summary The position is responsible for implementation and maintenance of the plant's mechanical reliability program including scheduling, documentation and traceability, and procedure writing, management of the site's PM programs, including documentation, and performing failure analysis on process equipment. Roles and Responsibilities Maintain the PM program and evaluate equipment before and after PM to determine issues, track the effectiveness of PM processes, and reconfigure existing processes to reduce downtime and maximize effectiveness Manages reliability improvement projects Perform failure analysis and development of recommendations to prevent reoccurrence and use failure analysis, and other types of root cause analysis in support of reliability Develop reliability test plans that represent the expected life of and operational conditions Identify, collect, analyze, and manage various types of data to minimize failures and improve performance Analyzing equipment breakdowns and determining root cause and corrective measures Develop engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that could affect plant operations (quality, cost, or regulatory issues) Assist in maintenance of PSM program to ensure compliance related to mechanical or reliability components Oversee Preventive Maintenance compliance and effectiveness to drive reliability improvement and serve as the go-to person for defining equipment failures and repair techniques Work with Maintenance QA/QC to ensure repair technique and equipment specific training are documented and made available Maintain piping specification, valve specification, gasket specification, and fixed equipment including heat exchangers/pressure vessels, Boilers, PSV's, thermal Minimum Qualification BS in Mechanical or Reliability Engineering, 5+ years in a chemical manufacturing environment Knowledge of engineering principles, project management, and regulatory compliance Knowledge of risk analysis tools and techniques and risk-based inspections and ASME code Demonstrate knowledge of PSM, MOC and PHA processes Demonstrated understanding of reliability and design techniques and failure analysis Proven record of accomplishment in Preventive and Reliability Based Asset Management Budgeting and accounting skills necessary to effectively manage projects Training using probability and statistical tools to analyze equipment lifecycle, conduct hypothesis testing, understand appropriate statistical models, tolerance, and regression analysis. Perform at a level exhibiting dependable and reliable work ethics. • Experience with steam boilers and gas compressors is a plus.
