If a near miss occurs at a robotic cell, you don't just file a report—you lead a root cause analysis, close gaps with engineered safeguards, reinforce LOTO, and coach the team so it doesn't happen again. That's the level of ownership we're looking for at Pretium Packaging's on-site EHS Program Manager role in St. Charles, Illinois. Spanish fluency is a plus. What You'll Do Drive an environment where safety leads production and compliance is non-negotiable: Design and sustain a proactive, behavior-based safety culture. Own safety programs, conduct audits, lead investigations, and implement corrective actions. Deliver targeted training for new hires and seasoned operators alike. Manage OSHA recordkeeping (300, 301) and regulatory changes. Coach leaders and associates; facilitate safety committees and cross-functional collaboration. Environmental Leadership Ensure compliance across air, wastewater, stormwater, and waste management. Handle permits, reports, and agency submissions at state and federal levels. Interpret emissions, water, and soil data to drive improvements. Advance pollution reduction with engineering and operations partners. Serve as the primary liaison to regulatory bodies and external partners. Manage onsite wastewater systems, waste classification, and documentation. Train, Engage, and Prepare Deliver training in lockout/tagout, PPE and hazard communication, machine guarding, ergonomics, and emergency response. Engage employees through committees and continuous improvement initiatives. Assess and mitigate risks tied to plastics processing equipment, robotics/automation, compressed air, and material handling/resins. Implement engineering/admin controls and track safety KPIs.
Plan for emergencies:
fire, evacuation, spills, and medical events; run drills and support response teams. Background That Sets You Up for Success Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field (preferred). 5+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strongly preferred:
experience in plastics, injection molding, blow molding, or industrial manufacturing. OSHA 30 preferred.
Credentials & Capabilities Preferred:
CHST, ASP, First Aid/CPR/AED. Command of OSHA and environmental regulations. Proven incident investigation and root cause analysis skills. Ability to influence and coach at all organizational levels; excellent organization and documentation. Microsoft Office proficiency. Spanish language proficiency preferred.
